Media Library

In the media library, all images, videos, audio files, and documents of a WordPresspage managed. Files can also be uploaded directly here. For example, if an image is uploaded to a page, it is also displayed in the media library and contains a note about the linked page or post.

When uploading, WordPress automatically generates multiple sizes of an image and delivers the appropriate one depending on the screen. Nevertheless, it is still worthwhile to shrink images beforehand: nobody on a website needs a photo with a width of 6000 pixels.

The media library also features Alt text stored. Files that are still integrated somewhere should not be deleted, otherwise empty image frames will appear. WordPress shows where each file is used.
