Shortcode

A shortcode is used in WordPress to place certain functionality (for example a contact form) on a page at the position of the shortcode. Shortcodes are written in square brackets [ shortcode ]. Depending on the functionality, values can also be passed to the shortcode. For example, the parameter “id” with the value “5”: [ shortcode id=5 ] Shortcodes are very popular in the development of WordPress websites, but are becoming increasingly irrelevant with the new Gutenberg-style block editor. The Gutenberg editor makes it possible to design the website visually, much like a page builder.
